upgrading ?

ok heres my question, i want to upgrade my system to a athlon64 3500, from my current system, which is

a7n8x-e deluxe,
athlon 3200+
geforce 6800GT agp
1gig DDR 400
2 HDD
DVD/CD/DVD-R Drive

the problem that im having is that i want to upgrade but use most of the parts from this pc. only having to buy the items need for the upgrade. what would you guys recommend?

none out, but if you want pci-e, go with the dfi lanparty ultra-d board, for agp go with the one hacp recommended.

hmm ic, hey anyone that can explain the difference in SATA/ATA/IDE HDD, don't want to make same mistake my friend did and have to buy new harddrives, right now i have the hdd that have the same cables as the cd/dvd room. are those IDE? or ATA?

Those are IDE. SATA is the best for HDD's of course now there's SATA2 so, go with SATA (150) or SATA2(300).

Yes Sata is the one with the thin rad cable compered to IDE which is thick and round.
