Ebay the best place to get A hardware encoder. I just got one for $20.50. A Radius VideoVision NuBus MPEG Encoder Decoder that retail for $2000.00

Those FireGL graphics cards are really only good for OpenGL stuff, you can do alot of good 3-d and movie editing, but not really for games unless you played alot of OPenGL games like Wolfenstein. Not for DirectX So make sure when you put $800-1000 to get one of these card, that you will be interested in stuff like that for awhile.
