update BIOS

How can i update the BIOS (using the file provided by ASROCK's website) safely, without damaging the system?

Download the bios file, put it onto your floppy with some flash program, type in some numbers and letters at the beginning of your boot. Wait a few seconds and... BAM your done.

my motherboard has software to update the BIOS in windows it works well, sadly not sure all motherboards have such software could be worth having a browse.

Perhaps i should just leave it alone?
Currently, the BIOS is Augest 2004.
