one last question........will the cdrw/dvd drive fit the new pc? Because the existing one is black.

Appart from the colour, are there any other differences? (are they the same size and will it fit in the bay?)

it should fit. unless yours has a weird shape. the color doesn't matter.

I think the standard size is 5.25" ...i think, but u can usually tell from looking at a picture if it fits.

and the drive im replacing it with is a standard size because it fits in my old pc at the moment. Its white/light grey, but im not bothered about the colour.

yer, ill just wait until i order it then when i get it i WONT turn it on, i will replace the drive straight away, then boot it up 4 the first time and see what happens.

does that sound ok, or should i try the pc b4 installing the drive?

i would try the PC before installing...why not...imagine it doesn't work at all...
