Which type of motherboard?
My fathers old Dell computer has packed up so i'm going to put a new one together for him. He will only use a desktop case as he does not like tower cases. I need to know what size motherboard I need for a desktop case. I have an old Slot A T-Bird Athlon cpu and motherboard but it is too long to fit the desktop case. (I think the motherboard needs to be square, not a rectangle)
Thanks for any help. |
ATX will work. Just find the case you want, then check its specs for supported mobos. Most horizontal PC cases built today support ATX and babyATX.

Here's two links for you to look at for horizontal desktop cases:
Full ATX: http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...roperty&DEPA=1 BabyATX (the square ones): http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...roperty&DEPA=1 |
I have an empty tower that I can use the Slot A T-Bird in for myself. I have two desktop cases but no motherboard/CPU (Well, a 486 and a p200:D). I will use one of these for my father. So it's baby ATX I should be looking for? Any recomendations on a current/few years old board? The system will be for light internet use, a database investor program and maybe the odd bit off photo editing.
