Default Two older machines which one is better?

My kid wants a computer and my wife wants me to get rid of my collection. So I want to give me kid the best of my older computers and I've narrowed it down to two of them one is some kinda computer with a Matsonic MS8308EP266 Motherboard with an AMD athlon xp proccesser with 2 512 pc133 sdram and the other is a hp pavilion 9870 with an intel pentium 4 and 4 256 pc800 rambus rdram both with windows xp service pack 2 my question is which of the two is better

I think the AMD is the better system over the P4.

Umm. kmote, It has the same amount of RAM. Unless you meant something else. SDRAM is also more advanced than RDRAM (AFAIK)

Whoops, I missed out that he gave the number of modules. In my defence, it was 2:44 am and 1GB is an unusually large amount of RAM for those machines.
