Two Core CPUs- Good or Bad for home users?

Have you tried using VMWare to reduce hardware? I use it for testing my application with legacy OS, or beta applications like Sql Server 05, BizTalk, etc. Just by copying the Virtual Machine File you can version the machine as well.

I have a VMWare Virtual Machine for:
Windows 03 Ent Server + Sql Svr 05 + VS.NET 05 + IIS.
Windows 03 Ent Server + BizTalk05 + SharePoint
Window 2k
Windows xp,
etc...

I'd probably do that if I did all this again. For the moment, the p4 box is down, but once I get it back together I'd like to have it up constantly, whereas my Opteron box might have the occasional restart. Same with the Linux box, since thats the only box that I leave running when I go away on trips for work or vacation or whatnot.

I still wanna get VMware though
