hahaha....i never heard that it was bad before...weird
i guess hotswaping anything is bad if its not meant for it, but who cares? i do it all the time, never had a problem, i mean hdd's, cdroms's kb/s mice, etc...
but yea, the simpilest and cheapest is to just switch the cable, takes like 15secs when you get good at it, and i dont screw mine on, just plug it in because i never move my pc or monitor.
next cheapest and most similest is to get a kvm switch, and the most expensive and so simple you wouldnt even bat an eye at it, just get another monitor.
just run down to a pc shop and ask if they have any they are going to throw out, i got one like that, and i got my main monitor for 35 bucks at this pc shop down the hill. its a 17" crt, but man does it have a clear picture.
