Default Tuner for Tivo-like recording

I have been looking for a tuner for my PC. My main specs are below, but I'm sure that I will be able to do basically any brand.

I want a good quality tuner and it MUST come with software to do recording just like Tivo.

I am in a dorm and I have no other option of picking up a cable box for tivo.

Any suggestions? For each suggestion, please state whether or not you have personally purchased the model yourself.

Thanks for the help.

What you're looking for is a PVR or Personal Video Recorder.

A friend of mine has a (HAUPPAUGE WinTV-PVR350) it's about $199.00.
Here's a link for it:

This one is their highest end PVR. It's actually pretty solid. It captures video very well. He captured the this years superbowl and made a really great highlight video. It's nice quality.

The cheapest route is to buy a TV Tuner for the PC. You can even find a TV Tuner with the necessary software for only 40 dollars. I just want to know the best, inexpensive TV Tuner. Some one had suggested a Leadtek tuner to me, but they discontinued that model (it was a three year model, just my luck). I am thinking of this tuner:

which does have DVR capabilities, I just want to hear suggestions before making this HUGE investment (its college, so im poor).
