Default thermal paste question

Why is artic silver 5 the best and also can someone post there heatsink and processor to let me see if i did mine right. If you are building a Computer right now can i see it before you put on the heatsink because i think i might have missed a step because my temps are only 1* lower. is this right. I can't post a picture because i have no Digital camers.

Sorry, no pics, but I can say that thermal compound is very finnicky. Sometimes it takes me several applications to get it perfect. Sure, it'll work, but not as well as you'd like it too sometimes.

Acetone will remove old paste and not damage your CPU

Still shouldn't do any damage. Just be careful and if you do spill, clean it up immediatley. Dab a paper towel in a little bit of it first, then wipe. Something without lint would be better.. maybe a chamois or something.
