There are 30 cm fans around you know. lol. There was a case that came with them from CoolerMaster. Just rip that off and put it on. One of my dad's friend had this PC, pretty old. Instead of a side panel, it was a huge fan. He took it off from a 1994 Mercury Sable. lol. After a while, it rip off the RAM and the video card. lol. He had to make a special case out of sheet metal [he was a car mechanic] to protect the IDE cable and the power connector.

30 cm? nope. I doesn't directly go on the heatsink. lol. It is attached from the top and the bottom of the case.

Why would it crush the CPU? Heatsinks are extremely lightweight.
