Question System restore help needed (using external DVD drive)

System restore help needed (using external DVD drive)

Hi Guys,
My laptop is been totally messed up by me.
The DVD/CD drive does not work now.
I need to give this laptop to my wife, I need to do a system restore (bring it back to factory condition)

Can I use an external DVD drive to run the software.. (My restore Software is on a DVD)
Will using a external DVD drive (Not included when I bought the laptop) cause any problems when I do the restore.

Thank for you help..

You need to check the bios and see if it will allow USB as a boot order option. After all, that external drive is a USB device.
