Suggest a mobo for me.(ATHLONXP)

i'm deciding on getting a AMD Athlon xp 2600+ (2.08ghz) a GeForce MX 5200 (128mb) and 512 RAM and an 80gb hard drive, can anyone reccomend the best mobo for this?, also the size has to be micro-atx(don't ask why).

i also have another question, how do you overclock your cpu?, and what are the pros and cons of this?

Get an Asus A7N8X Deluxe. It's a popular mobo and once you get it going it will perform like hell for you.


As far as overclocking, don't waste your time. I know it's the "cool" thing to do, but you won't get much more out of it and a 2600 is pretty damn fast.

If you really must get more speed, drop another 512 meg of memory (DDR400) in there. Lest risk of ruining your system for speed greed.

i would look in the overclocking forum for questions on overclocking, and yes it is worth it, just be careful, you CAN burn up your cpu, but i know people that are running athlons at 3.4ghz
