I need to replace a hard drive, but I'd like to save the data in the old hard drive. Is there a safe way to store an old hard drive, so that the data will be safe and accessible if I reinstall it?

Also what is the best way to store a very expensive stick of memory?

It is best to actually record onto a medium such as a DVD or CD. They are the best for archiving and backing up. There isnt a way to store the hard drive other than leaving it in the case. But if you want to be 100% sure the data is safe, burn the data. Moving along, the best way to store a expensive stick of ram is to but it in an anti-static bag and put it in a cardboard box.

Good idea. The case is thermaltake, has plenty of extra slots. So if I change the box I'll just unplug the old hard drive and leave it in place.
