Default Speed of SATA

What is the speed that SATA transfers data?

mine's about 45mb/s. my older 40gb hd was like 25mb/s.

Pentium 4 3.0Ghz, 1Gb pc3200
BFG 6800gt, samsung 19\"
Audigy 2 ZS, TruePower 550 watt
160Gb SATA

3Dmark05 - 4750, Aquamark3 - 59 200

IAM is correct. Also SATA300's should be coming out sometime in the near future...as the name suggests it'll be 300mb/sec

I heard although SATA is 150mb max that they are unable to actually reach those speeds???
