Default spec verification

Ok, someone wants me to build 'em a comp. They're gonna use it for 1/2 office stuff and 1/2 for gaming. THe gaming should be pretty good, but not 6800 good. These are the specs they came up with, and I can already see errors:

AMD XP 2400+
512MB DDR PC3200

I can figure out the case and what not.
Ok, I know that the vid card and the processor probably aren't the best for the job. I dunno about the mobo; I don't have an AMD so...anyways, they also gave me some upgrades if need be:

AMD XP 2600-2700
1GB RAM PC3200

I do not believe that the processor upgrade will do either. THe major probs are the vid card, the mobo(?), and the processor. What should I be looking for? Thanks

Ok, thanks all. I figured more better components were required.
