Default Speaker Prob

i have what i thought was a speaker a prob, it was when i was playing music, and i turned it right up to its loudest, it sounded like the song was scipping, but its on my har drive, and sounds fine when its quiter, so i thought it was just my speakers didnt like being so loud, but then some one said to me theres a prob with the codec, so, any ideas, there harman/kardon speakers?

Most speakers will sound really crappy if volume is set to maximum...
