Default Speaker Echo - Windows Setting

Hey, my speakers echo whever a sound stops playing and its not a speaker problem because it does it with headphones also. Is there some kind of setting in windows that can turn this off? I have windows XP home

have u got MIC enabled? if yes, check the MIC boost settings (or if u arent using it, disable it)

if u havent, then its a Sound Card problem, what u have in?
