Sound Problem in Intel® Desktop Board D845GLLY

Hi Everybody,

Pl. help me.

I have a problem with my Desktop with Motherboard Intel® Desktop Board D845GLLY which has a built in Sound card.

But for some reasons my Desktop is not showing speaker icon on the task bar as well as it is not producing any sound. I have checked in the control panel, it says device not working properly.

I have tried with re-installing windows XP but no use and I have re-installed drivers but again no use.

Can you pl. help me whether my sound card is not damaged. If you think my build in sound card is damaged then if I purchase a new sound card then it will work with motherboard.

Pl. help me.

Did you install the drivers to the onboard sound???????

Also make sure that it is not disabled in the BIOS.

Yes I have installed the drivers and it is enabled in the BIOS as well.

Maybe an updated bios will help......... BUT MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:amazed:

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH WAIT!!!!!!!

It looks like your board is older than most boards. It was built around the time Windows 2k was around. Maybe your onboard does not support XP.

This has happened with me and one of my other computers.
