Sound card trouble :(

One day I turn on the computer and my sound card doesnt work. I go to device manager and the sound card was listed with a yellow exclamation mark beside it. When I checked its properties, it said:
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)

I tried unistalling the device then installing the drivers again but it is interupted and I get something saying there was a problem during the installation, your device might not work properly. So I went out and bought a new sound card. Tried to install it and same thing happen. Please help me

Maybe your mobo has onboard sound that hasn't been disabled? Driver conflicting with something else.

I had this computer for almost 4 years. Same sound card for that long. And no I dont have onboard sound. The mobo is CUV4-x if u need to know. thanks anyway
