Default Sound Card Problems

The sound on my computer is not working. It works for simple Windows sounds(i.e. startup), but for games and other programs, there is no sound. My computer was just formatted, and before the format my sound was working fine. The sound card I have is a Soundblaster Audigy. I tried updating the drivers, and it said it could not detect the card. I didn't remove the card, or tamper with it, so I don't know why it is saying this.

Any help is appreciated, and many thanks in advance.

Take the card out, uninstall any software that came with it, uninstall divers, delete it in your device manager.

Put it back in, start it up, load drivers, and see if that works.
