sound card not there?

I have an ecs board with 7.1 surround sound card built into the motherboard. When i reformated i went to reinstall the drivers for it and says the device is not found????????but its there im about to go buy another sound card but i kinda wanna keeep this one what should i try?

Make sure that Onboard Audio is enabled in the CMOS setup.. I can't see why it would have been reset to disabled, but this might very well be the answer to your problem.

it is on auto and the only other option is to dissable it. PLEASE HELP
