sound card driver unavailable

I just upgraded my pc from Windows 98 to Win2k pro and the sound does not work. I realize that this is a result of my sound card driver being designated for the 98 OS, but when going to the card vendor site, there is no option for a driver for that card for W2K. Does this mean that I have to upgrade the sound card, too? Thanks!

hey first of all tel the sound card name..??? then ill tell the website where you could download the driver from..!

Okay, I have it figured out. . . It was an old Gateway, and they have an automatic driver detector that you can download. I ran it, and it said that the correct driver was already installed, but I reinstalled it anyway and. . .ta da! Thanks for the help!
