Sony DRU-710A wont burn DVDs. HELP

Hi ive been racking my brains on this one.I have a sony DRU-710A
and was working good for a few months and now I cant get it to burn DVDs.It will burn CDs and so iwas looking on the internet and on alot of sites like Toms hardware and other sites its shows that it dosnt burn DVD+R but I have the book and it shows DVD+R
Now I work on computers alot and can fix almost anything but this one has me stumped and unfortentually I cant find the recipt for it so i cant return it for repairs which is a real bummer ive looked all over the place for it.Anyway any help would be appreciated.

try different media, what are you using now? check for a firmware upgrade too.

Thanks for the reply.I did the firmware update a few days ago and the discs are memorex but there not on the recomended list for sony but that wasnt a problem untill now.Let me throw a little more wierd info into the mix.I also have a internal dvd burner that started giving me trouble at the same time so when i built my spare computer
i put it in that one and it still dosnt burn DVDs.Now is that just the wierdest thing you ever heard of.And i dont have any virus.Of spyware so Im really stumped over this one.Thanks for the reply.

tried uninstalling your ide drivers and reboot the computer for your internal burner.
