I have a Sony CD-RW CRX140E and have suddenly experienced a problem recording onto NEW CD-RW discs. Using Windows XP. I use Windows Explorer to drag images, etc, onto discs. The message I receive in Writing Wizard is: There was an error in the writing process. The disc you have attempted to write may no longer by usable.
I have also attempted to use NERO and get error messages:
1. Write protected.
2. Invalid writestate.
3. Could not perform EndTrack.
4. Simulation failed at 4x (600 KB/s)
I have tried different speeds, same result. I have also tried different makes of CD-RW discs, all good makes, same result. The discs are not faulty.
I don't have a problem recording onto CD-RW discs already in use, or those I have erased to use again. CD-R discs are also okay.
Can anybody help.

see if theres a Firmware flash update available for it from Sony. Some of there lines required a critical update in order to write to the newer
/faster media discs.
