Default sonic DLA format cd-r?

I am using win xp home. recently when copying pictures to cd, a line comes up telling me that i have to format the cd-r in order for DLA to read it? i've never had to do this before. i thought that cd-rs were already formatted. what gives? any suggestions.

Whenever I get wierd errors like that, it's because I have more than one program associating itself with the cd rom drive. You're using Nero, but do you have anything else open? AnyDVD or DVD Region free or alcohol 120% or anything like that? Shut down all open programs that you can. If you need to, post your open processes.

This might be stupid but is nero sonic recordnow, because that's what i use to make music. I've never used windows media to burn music. Do I really need Sonic DLA. it's in my list of installed programs. Is it causing this to happen? thanks

no, sonic and nero are entirely different programs. Go ahead an uninstall Sonic, and then try Nero. Or vice versa.
