you will not need a new OS if you upgrade, but you will have the option to in the future, when new OS's come out.

Ahhh right, excellent stuff

And buying something like Win XP 64 Uber L33T Edition will allow the 64bit CPU's to really push themselves to the limit?

aye, thought i'd 'jazz' it up a bit. So, to put it in human words. Having an OS build around the 64bit architecture would increase the CPU's performance?

released yesterday? i hadn't realised it was so soon, i thought it was a while away yet, either way, i dont think heaps of people will buy it, because the majority of consumers still have 32bit systems.
