Default Is socket 940 cpu better than FX 949

Is the Opteron socket 940 cpu better than the 64 FX-55 939?

both simmilar specs and price. The opteron has a troy core though...

One is a server processor and one is a normal consumer processor

wow you must have a lot of dough. Unless you have hella money and want the very best consider something more along the lines of a 3500+ or a 4000+ even fx-55 is only a little better at a huge price increase

if u got the cash, yea/ FX-55 is also the best gaming processor out there

Getting the best cpu in the world is a waste of money and time. Just get a stable processor and go with it. Getting the best performance for gaming lies withen the video card. Atleast get something over 2 ghz in AMD or 3 ghz in Intel.

FX-55 has alotta room to grow in. i mean look how far ppl are OCing them. and they are whoopin intels A$$'$

Hey, i didn't say i will buy it cuz I just built my AMD an year ago, i just saw it on newegg and was wondering if it was better than FX55
