Default Small Computer - what do you reccomend?

I am interested in purchasing a small desktop computer like shuttle or ASUS S-presso.

Does anyone have any reccomendations?

What additional parts do you have to buy with the barebones systems?

Im not completely sure what they put in their High-End shuttles. My friend got one, its nothing specail. In fact its pretty crappy. I know that a monitor dont come with them, and they always have cheap mobo's.

I dont know if you know alot about computers, but if you do you would simply check out the specs. Why dont you post a few shuttle computers your interested in, and we can check them out.

Are you that confined by space? Why not move up a little and at least go to a micro-ATX?

Micro ATX would be fine. I just need something portable.

What would you reccomend?

It all depends on what you will be using it for. Do you want to build or buy built. Problem with smaller systems is that the PSUs usually top out early and you can't upgrade. Too many unanswered questions to recommend.

I would build it if it was a cost savings or buy it as long as its decent. Just a good system that's fairly quick would be fine.

This is a thin and small case and it takes standard ATX. It'll do well for portability and getting mainstream parts.

For picking parts:
AMD or Intel?
PCIe or AGP?
Any specific mobo mfr.?
Any special requirements?
For Intel only, DDR or DDR2?

No special requirements, just at least a 2 gig proc and fast ram (min 256). I'd like to support AMD.
