Slow transfers from DVD/CD rom to Harddrive

I noticed when I try to copy Movie files (Porno ) from a burned DVD (avi, mpeg, etc.,) 2-300 MB in size to my Hardrive, It is extrememy slow. 90 min it regesters at times. I usually give up.

My DVD burner is a TDK DVDRW 040N and My CDRW is a Lite-On 48125W. The Hard drives are WDC 80 GIG, and a Maxtor 60 Gig.

I try to view them through the Media Player, it drags too much. I figure the Harddrives are faster, once I can copy them on to it.

Oh yea the Media are DVD's 4 Gig capacities.

try a tool like Drivespeed in Nero, should force the CD drives to read at its maximum level
