I have 2 extra hard drives and an extra CD-ROM drive that I want to attach to my computer, but I don't want to void my warrenty by putting them in my computer. Should I buy 3 IDE to USB 2.0 converters and connect them that way? Also, somebody told me that I would only be able to attach one external hard drive in that manner, is that true?

As far as the warranty thing is concerned, thats all up to you.

I have one old IDE Seagate Barracuda in an Adaptec USB2.0 enclosure and it works fine. You could (I am fairly sure) connect more than one in this manner.

If you buy a multiple port USB hub the number is limited only by the inputs on the hub or attached hubs...very similar to SCSI daisy chains and fiberwire servers!
