Default

Shared means it shares system memory. So if the system had a total of 256mb RAM and 64mb shared video RAM, you actually only have 192mb free system memory. Non shared means there is dedicated video memory, which is better.

Not only does shared video ram decrease your system ram, but dedicated video memory is usually MUCH faster than standard system ram, this not only decreasing system performance due to lower available RAM, but your video performance will also degrade because it is having to access it's memory at a much lower speed.
