Serial port to capture video?

Hello, I am not really sure if this is the right section to ask this so I'm sorry if this question should belong somewhere else.
The question is: I have a home security camera which send information to wireless receiver. The receiver itself has a video out (composite)

I'm wondering if I will be able to view video from my computer if I'll connect video out (only video, audio not necessary for me) to this:

and the I'll connect scart cable with serial port from my pc

Serial port is for transfering data so it should work I guess?

i think you'll still need a video program that can listen on the serial port. that maybe tricky.

if you have the hardware already, i say give it a shot. if not, and im assuming you have a usb port, i suggest picking up a usb video capture card. they are under 10 bucks.

with the rcas to serial, you may experience laggy video dur to slower transmission speeds.
