Whats the difference between the serial ATA hard drives and the normal? other then the little 17mbs? speed
im not even sure if its mb heh

now it is only a small difference in speed. But factor in that it is hot swappable and that is a big deal. Also the 150mb speed is just the first tier of this technology. The Technolgy is on a three tier road map with top speeds projected to be faster than scsi. so we will have to see what it does. With all the personal raid PCs people are using these days, sata will defintely be a blessing.

blah why cant they just make normal hard drives faster =/

so Serial ATA, is it the cable that makes it go faster or just the serial ata drive alone?

Im no engineer, but i imagine it is the controller and cable combo and the way data is transfered that makes it faster. But still by far the hot swap technology is the big winner of sata.
