Can DDR support MOBOs support SD ram as well? Because i cant afford DDR as well yet.

First off, what is your motherboard (manufacturer/model)?

SDRAM = 168 pin DIMM
DDR SDRAM = 184 pin DIMM

Furthermore, the modules are notched in different locations, thus SDRAM cannot work on a DDR board, unless you have a motherboard which can support both types (note that DDR and SDR cannot be used simultaneously).

The MOBO is the ABIT IS7 , but i'll ony get it if it can support AMD XP 2500 and my P3 cos i prolly wont get the AMD at the same time as the MOBO.

Ok that said i guess ill save up and get the mobo and ram at the same time. but with the cpu can any mobos support a P3 and AMD XP 2500 or is it the same deal as the ram?

well DDRRAM is not too expensive, especially not compared to RDRAM which is very rarely used

and compatibility mainly depends on your M/B so you will need a M/B with a 168 pin slot (also said above by Martin)

If your M/B doesn't it would probbably be worth trying to get money together for DDRRAM
