Default SCSI; So Many Kinds; Help

I have this SCSI controller with an internal port that has 50 pins. The external port has 50 pins condensed. What kind is this? I have 4 x 36.6 GB SCSI hard drives that have I believe 68 pins. However, I have a converter that allows me to use it as the 50 pin one. On my DAD's comp, it didn't work, but will it work on mine? How can I get any hdd to work?

Yeah thanks, I really owe it to you guys. This is the best place...better than AMD Tech Forums (not trying to start anything, so don't comment).
