Exclamation Sata HD + IDE Slave?

I just purchased a WD Cav. 250 gig SATA. I presume, once installed as the master, any slave added must be in the same configuration (As SATA) and that the IDE 1 slot is. therefore, disabled. ???

Guess it is too dumb a question for a response...I'll do the research and finger it out myself!

There is no Master and Slave for SATA.

Just to clarify, SATA is the one with the skinny cables.
PATA (IDE) is the one with the ribbon cables.

When you have a SATA HD and a IDE HD, you set the IDE HD to master, because it will be the only device on it's IDE channel.

Wait a little while before you give up on your post Be patient, it will get answered.
