I ordered all my parts, they came, i put them together....

started the computer up, ready to install windows 2000, and the damn computer wont read the harddrive...

...its an western digital 120gb SATA....

... i tried everything, tested every connection, i even fdisked teh harddrive and formatted it, but for some reason the bios wont read it....

dammit..... does anyone have any idea what could be going on???

help....

you need to install the RAID drivers if you have onboard SATA controller on the motherboard. check the manufacturer website if you received an OEM drive with no driver CD.

assuming you are using win2k/ winxp at the beggining of windows installation you need to read the prompt at the bottom. it will ask to press F8 to install RAID or 3rd party drivers.

I'm curious ..how did u format the drive if the bios does not detect the drive ...??

ALso ..i guess the mods need to move this thread to the Hardware forum

Ek ... NOw ... u got me laughin' .... :D
