Arrow S-ata

what is basically a S-ATA HDD,
how to make it compatible for WIN XP,
when i tried to install xp on my friend's PC, which has a seagate barracuda 80 gb S-ATA HDD,
a blue screen appears after i press ENTER to continue setup....

when i loaded the drivers by pressing F6 at the begining, the drivers are loaded but at the end of loading all the required hardware driver files, the setup says HDD is not found and so setup cannot continue,
when i installed win98, setup hangs up and cannot be succeded...
what is basic prob???
help me out.........

Ok, first, a S-ATA hdd is a different interface than IDE. IDE is older, S-ATA is rather new. Second, did the hdd come with a drivers disk? usually you have to have a third party drivers disk to use a S-ATA drive correctly with winxp.

In the eyes of Bill Gates, the open source world seems un-activated...
