Default Running a power supply without a fan??

Hi,
I wonder if I run a power supply (350 watts) without the fan, but, without the metal top, what would it do? Fry, burn, or just blow out, or what?

Why would you want to run a power supply without the fan anyway? I think something would burn or melt because they don't put the fans there just to make noise or look cool.

It'll run alright without a fan. It'll just get hotter that's all, and degrade the lifetime of it. I've done it before.
