I dl and installed a windows update, and when it booted back up, i recieved this error:

Error loading C:\Windows\system32\bridge.dll
The specified module could not be found.

What do I need to do to fix this?

Thanks for the help.

this bridge is actually a trojan, which your virus cleaner must have deleted it. but for its un-instalation, you require it anyway, and updates want to un-install un-needed information and couldnt find that dll there.

you'll also find this Bridge written in your add/remove programs. and nothing written in its front weather how much kb/mb it is. blank information about it.

run some other registry cleaner to ged rid of it.

and for future prevention, get some decent firewall.

I have ZA pro for a firewall. And how do i go about getting rid of whats left?

Its not critical? And can i go into msconfig and just not have it load up?

the critical part is deleted by ur AV.

and if Zone Alaram didnt blocked it, means that its a bad fire wall. as I have these thngs coming into my othe pc (that i use to surf randomly) and after usage, i get these ad wares things like that installed into machine. on using, McAfee, nothing happened so far.

you can stop it in msconfig. or get decent registry cleaner, or some other cleaner that deletes unwanted files. and this must as well be deleted.

try norton utilities (trial version) of Norton system works.
