Router not working

Hi, I just recently bought a wired router.

I got it all set up between my two computers, and it DOES allow LAN to work which means it is functioning properly however, when I try to connect to the internet, I cannot get a connection.
It gives me the message, "Connecting through WAN Miniport (PPPOE)". So it gets as far as this, but can't quite get to the next step of actually connecting!

According to the manual it should work, but that's always how it goes...

Anyway, I have a sympatico high speed DSL connection.

I'm fairly new to networking, so if anyone has any suggestions, I would be very grateful!

Does your DSL connection support PPPOE. I do not know how your ISP is setup but do you usually have to type in the password and username or does it usually auto connect. Also do you have your DSL modem plugged into the right port. It should probably say WAN for the port that the modem plugs into.
