Ribbon Cables

I was just wondering if mobo's and harddrives and cd roms and such are still connected with the ribbon cables. My old gateway (4 years old) still uses them, is there new wires out that are easier to work with? i hate ribbons, they get in my way a lot.

Yep, IDE (that's the ribbons) is still supported on current mainboards. You can get slimline IDE cables, eliminating the hassle of the wide ribbons, or alternatively switch to SATA or SATA2 if your mobo supports it.

DFI lanparty supports sata and sata 2 right? i hope so because ribbons teh suxorz.

Round IDE cables can do the trick. They are easier to manipulate around tight corners and into narrow spaces.
