When you install drivers from a new motherboard where do the drivers go to in your hardrive in case you want to retreive them later if you lost your cd drivers. Somebody said in windows. Well what would be the name of the folder to look for Would it be driver cache

Yes, they stored on your hard drive, and the location will depend on which OS your are running. I have Windows 2000 and my CD ROM driver is located at C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\CDROM

You should always just go through your device manager to add/remove/update your device drivers.

But to find it to back it up, just click on the "drivers details" tab in the drivers properties, that will tell you the location.
