Default resolution program

I got a flat screen tv recently, and I saw a thread about a program that could manipulate the output resolution for the computer..I want to hook it up to my TV, so I want to use the program to get the best possible resolution. I totally forgot the name. I think it started with a p..any ideas?

I think TV's only get 640x480

here is a resolution changer if you need one though
