Default replacing my video card

I am thinking of replacing my video card, with this one.

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...127-150&depa=1

I currently have a saphire 9800pro, which has been giving me problems, see this

http://www.techist.com/showthread.php?threadid=47577

If no one else has any suggestions to fix the problems, then i think i might have to buy a new card.

If that isnt a good card, please suggest a different one.

Thanks

Assuming you reinstalled windows and stuff, the new graphics card will probolly solve the problem

6600 GT is a great card at a great price. however, I would recommend the eVGA models over the MSI models.

Also, if u have PCI-E (which im assuming u dont cuz of the 9800 pro) go for the X800 XL.

Im not goint with ATI until they have a good line of cards again. I had this same problem with a 9600pro and a 9800pro. I dont have pcix. I dont want to get a 6800 because i will be building a new rig in july 06. And plus 400$ is too much right now.

Going back to what dhw200 suggested, stating that evga is better than msi. I found this evga, it has a 900mhz mem speed while msi has a 1000mhz.

6600gt evga
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...130-220&depa=1

6600gt msi
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...127-150&depa=1

6600gt gigabyte
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...125-168&depa=1

The msi has many more reviews than the other two, so it seems like more people have had success with it.

Then in that case, the 6600 GT would prolly be ur best choice.

Which of the three listed above? I am leaning to the msi, any reason not to go with it?

Also when is the next generation of card coming out? In a month or two? Would it be worth it to wait for the netgenerations to come out so prices are lower, and maybe go with the 6800 instead?

m sure other people have opinions about this as well. eVGA has proved time and time again that they built the most reliable, most powerful, and downright most bad-*** cards of the labs that do nvidia stuff. However, wait for some other ideas b4 u make ur purchase.

I have that and it's a great card so go for it...

by the way, back when i bought it it was $220, then after a couple of weeks it dropped to $170 (that pissed me off) and now it's back around 200, lol
