to stop it from shutting down go to start- run then type shutdown -a but you dont wanna turn off RPC as thats why ur comp is shutting down, you have blaster virus,

how many svchost.exe processes are their supposed to be running? I got 4...one says Local Service, one says Network Service and the other two say SYSTEM....but I've seen them every time I've ever formatted my computer and all that good stuff.....and I know virus's like to rename themselves to those things (obviously) but just wondering how many are actually supposed to be running.

in my firewall it says I have 12 svchost.exe connections, mostly from IP 0.0.0.0 to 0.0.0.0..they have different descriptions:
-EPMAP=Dynamically assigns ports dor RPC
-Listener=remote Filesharing
-NTP= network time protocol
-INTERM=remote login network terminal
-STARTRON
-NIMREG
-FC-SER= Fujitsu config protocol (but Idon't have any fujitsu components)
-BYTEX
-COMMPEX-MAIN
-SSDP=simple service detection protocol
