please note that refilling ink voids the warranty.
I usually buy knock-off brand ink; costs the same as refilling.

i have never been to the US, but dont you guys have stores/kiosks that refill it for you? In British Columbia, there is one called Island Inkjet.

I refill my ink cartridges. It isnt that messy, maybe 1 newspaper gets used or something. I stick this syringe thing through this hole and refill it.
