Recording tv to PC

If I want to record tv onto a hard drive... is all I need is a TV in card?

What kind of software would i need? Would it come with the card or would i have to get it somewhere else?

get an ATI card with DVI,software will come with it

All you need to buy is a TV card...all the software will comes with it. I have a winfast one and it is good.

I have the Leadtek PCI TV/FM Tuner Card, in my pc for almost two years. Its a great card. The card comes with its own software that works like tivo, and it comes with dvd, and editing software. Its not that expensive and the quality is great.

Well I was planning on using this with my system for a tivo like thing and then use a DVD burner for burning... Do all of the cards come with TiVo like software or just normal software that just lets you record to the comp?
