RAM removal question

What is the worst that could happen to my tower if I removed one stick of RAM from a channel that has two sticks? The other channel would still have two sticks.

Basically I want to borrow it for another computer (since it's the only thing missing) so I can finish my build until I get my RAM I ordered from Newegg.

*Side note: Don't ever ship using eggsaver

If you have 3 out of 4 slots filled, you are running single channel. Not much of a performance loss.
